I think it’s better than some of the other copywriting courses out there. The WYWTF course is a fairly comprehensive copywriting program, and you’re also learning how to handle potential clients and run a successful business.

I don’t think that all of the methods discussed are that useful. Cold emailing, for example, is not a very reliable way to get more clients. But for the most part she’s giving you good tips on how to become your own boss with your copywriting techniques.

In this digital world, copy is all around us. In fact, you’re reading a blog post right now, and I’m writing one… there are about six million new posts published every day. So yeah, this is a real industry and there’s real money here.

Just be prepared to struggle for a while. Copywriters can earn as little as $15 an hour… which is not great when you consider the average hourly rate in the US is almost $30.

Once you’ve factored in unreliable clients, long working hours, a whole lot of screen-time, and a tricky work/life balance… yeah, it’s not the easiest market if you value your free time, your health, and your sanity.

This is a big question for all those would be freelance copywriter candidates out there… how much does Write Your Way To Freedom cost?

Well the Free Masterclass is free… of course. But to get to the good stuff, you’re going to have to splash a bit of cash.

Just how much cash… ? Well Sarah is a little cagey on that one. Digging around online I’ve found…

• $1,997 – This seems to be the old price that used to be listed on the site.
• $900 – This is the lowest price I’ve seen mentioned online.
• And $5,800 – This is the highest price I’ve seen mentioned… an enormous variation in cost.

So, the answer is… I’m not sure. You might get lucky and get it for 900 bucks, or you might find yourself dropping almost 6 grand on it. I hope it’s worth the investment!

Is Write Your Way To Freedom Legit?

Aside from the slightly weird pricing… I’d say Write Your Way To Freedom is legit.

Sarah comes across very well, and I think she’s motivated by a sincere desire to see people achieving the same success she’s seen on her own copywriting journey.

I think if you sign up, you’re going to get the course materials she’s advertising. Along with the weekly live sessions and support from Sarah’s team, I’d say that all seems pretty good.

One word of warning though. Don’t expect the program to change your life. A copywriting business is still a copywriting business at the end of the day. If you sign up, expect quite a bit of rough sailing before you hit those open waters of financial freedom… if you ever do actually hit them.

My Personal Opinion On The Sarah Turner Copywriting Course

Let’s break down my personal opinion on the Sarah Turner copywriting course. I think it scores big in some senses… less so in others.

First up, here’s what I like…

1. Sarah really knows how to write… if you’ve got a bit of copywriting experience, she might help push you to the next level.
2. Sarah is focused on other key aspects too. She’ll answer questions on running your own business and being your own boss.
3. It’s all delivered in a nicely conversational tone that makes people feel relaxed and ready to learn on their copywriting journey.

Now, here’s what I don’t like…

1. While some people are absolutely killing it as a content writer, many are experiencing pretty woeful monthly income with this business model.
2. For a freelance copywriter, client work can quickly dry up, leaving you unsure of where your next check’s coming from.
3. Long hours are par for the course in copywriting… unless you’re one of the lucky ones bringing in the big spender clients, you’re going to be spending a lot of your free time writing copy.

To be fair, none of this is Sarah’s fault. Her own lived experience is pretty impressive. She started writing, broke out of her full time job, and she made it all work.

I just think this is wildly different to the experience most people are having in this industry. Most people are just trading one full time job for another, and ending up worse off as a result. This is just the nature of the business model… Sarah’s awesome success story is more an exception than a rule here.

I prefer a business model you can depend on…

I spend a long time looking for that kind of dependability. When I finally found it, it was in the form of local lead generation and Digital Leasing.

I really like the program, and I think Sarah has done incredibly well on her own copywriting journey. The price could do with a bit of clarification, but I think you’re largely getting good stuff here.

My big worry is the business model itself. Lots of copywriters report long hours, uncertain results, and difficult clients. There might be a big prize at the end of the tunnel… but it’s a long ol’ tunnel, and there are no guarantees.
