Traffic And Funnels Review (2024): Are Taylor Welch And Chris Evans The Best Facebook Ads Gurus?

Traffic And Funnels Review

Traffic and Funnels is a now-defunct digital marketing program ran by two guys by the name of Taylor Welch and his business partner, Chris Evans.

No, not the Captain America Chris Evans.

These guys preached all about the importance of a sales funnel within an overall sales process and promoted their courses to basically anyone who would listen.

But they particularly wanted people who were interested in generating leads for their business or other people’s businesses to join them in what they were doing.

And if you’re reading this, you either:

  • didn’t get the memo that they were shut down
  • you were looking into one of their other programs like Client Kit
  • you’re just looking for some kind of digital marketing gig and you don’t know what program to go with!

That last one is a total struggle that I can understand.

After all, there are so many courses and programs out there these days, all of which promise all the tricks of generating revenue through things like driving paid traffic.

At the end of the day, it can be tricky to figure out who actually has the best offering out of the hundreds of courses out there.

Another reason you might be here is to determine which ones are scams and which ones are legit.

The unfortunate truth is that there are a ton of scammers out there, and the best scammers know how to make themselves look and sound similar to a legitimate program!

It can be a little scary.

Lucky for you, I have been writing reviews on this kind of stuff for a while now, and I’ve figured out some of the best ways of determining who the good guys are and who the bad guys are.

So, I’ll go over the pros and cons of Traffic And Funnels, we’ll see if it still makes sense to run Facebook ads these days, and I’ll even go over some alternatives to see what the best feature is for you.

Now, let’s get moving with my Traffic and Funnels review!

Average Rating

1.33

it's always tough to give scores out to courses that don't exist anymore. That said, this program was also flagged by the FTC, so I have to give the training the lowest score for having some major issues. I'll give the mentorship a slight boost, since I do think that the guys in charge know a thing or two about digital marketing, and aren't total frauds. I think they simply over-promised what their students would be getting. When it comes to community, it doesn't really sound like that was ever a strength with this course, and certainly isn't much to speak about now...unless you count online complaints.

Pros

  • Digital marketing is a good start, meaning you could make money with the business model.
  • The gurus have done this with other programs, meaning they have some experience.
  • They had a free trial, which means you could have saved some money while figuring out what you wanna do.

Cons

  • Getting fined by the FTC means the company has serious issues.
  • Even before the legal problems, Taylor Welch was trying to leave the company.
  • Lacked firm SEO training, meaning you'd be too reliant on Facebook.

TLDR – What’s The Verdict On Traffic And Funnels?

What's The Verdict On Traffic And Funnels

Traffic And Funnels started as a pretty good idea.

After seeing the success of Russell Brunson’s ClickFunnel company, I’m sure Welch and Evans realized what they could do if they started their own successful program.

They focused on the funnel-building process, teaching their students how to use paid traffic elements like the Audience Insights feature on Facebook and how to overcome cold traffic objections. All this was covered within the first few weeks of their course.

They promised that their students could get rich off of their tactics, which, to be fair, is certainly a possibility in the digital marketing world.

That said, some students claimed that their teachings were limited to very strict Facebook and e-mail marketing tactics that didn’t really help anyone become wealthy.

The FTC legal issue actually labels TAF as telemarketers, which could be because they don’t understand the new world of digital marketing, or it could mean that Traffic And Funnels actually had you making cold calls the old-fashioned way, too!

All in all, it’s pretty easy for me to give this one a verdict:

Don’t even click on their website!

It’s still half-active for some reason, but if you click on anywhere outside the home page, your antivirus detection will probably start going haywire. Their blog posts are from 2017, and even before the company went bankrupt, founder Taylor Welch was trying to get out of there as soon as possible.

This just goes to show that even within the profitable world of digital marketing, niches and mentorship can make a world of difference.

For example, if these guys had focused solely on local lead generation, where you generate leads for local businesses like plumbers, tree services, and other professional services, it’s pretty hard to go wrong.

While it’s unfortunate that Traffic And Funnels had a pretty nasty salesperson or two who left their students with a negative mindset, you need to know that not every course out there is similar to that approach.

There are gurus who have a proven track record of success, without all the legal problems…

If you have the right coach who walks you through obstacles and keeps your mindset going strong moving forward, then the odds will absolutely be in your favor!

If it’s financial freedom you’re after, Digital Leasing is head and shoulders above the competition. They’ll teach you all about sales funnels, but they’ll also focus on more than just spending all your money on paid ads…you might even get some SEO training as well!

That means you can save some money on cost and build sustainable leads over time.

Digital Leasing is a REALLY solid alternative, bringing more customers through the door, and stacking up to $2,000 in your hand per month, per client!

Do you know what kind of product could be considered “recession-proof“?

Customers.

No one ever gets sick of more profits, so your investments are safe, and you can do it all from the comfort of your own home, while spending time with family and friends.

Their students seem extremely passionate about what they’re doing – not just getting by, but creating their own future.

AreaScoreDescription
Time Investment1/5The course doesn’t exist anymore, so it would be a waste of time to join.
Level of Control1/5No control if the FTC is charging the company.
Ease of Implementation1/5Not very easy to do without a course around.
Profit Potential1/5Good idea to get into digital marketing, just not like this!

Sometimes you find a great program, but then all the coaches are awful. Other times, you find a really engaging mentor…but then it turns out there’s really no way to make money with their business model.

It can be tricky out there!

But this program might have been for you if…

  1. You want in on digital marketing no matter what
  2. You were interested in an alternative to ClickFunnels
  3. You figured that more money = more value

On the other hand, it probably didn’t make sense to join up if…

  1. You saw the FTC problems coming
  2. You had concerns about the brutal student reviews
  3. It was too pricey for the value provided

Traffic And Funnels At A 1,000 FT View

Traffic And Funnels At A 1,000 FT View

If you haven’t heard of sales funnels by now, then you might be new to the world of online business.

Here is the basic gist:

You go and throw some ads out there, which could be paid video ads via social media or some kind of blog format. After that, folks might be intrigued by what you’re offering, and then they click down the rabbit hole.

That is your sales funnel.

That funnel is a page where they’ll see a big hook (an overarching concept), then a video with a detailed sales pitch or a guru’s rags-to-riches story, and then you’ll likely see some curated testimonials from their favorite students on all the great reasons you should do what they did.

Sometimes, there will be a Google Form, and in general, this is designed to be somewhat of a feeder system for sales and enrollment.

Oftentimes, you’ll have your own sales team taking calls to sell high-ticket offers to potential clients.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, a sales funnel can be critical to an online business’ success.

While ClickFunnels dominates the sales funnel space, the Traffic And Funnels program positioned itself as a competitor early on and lasted for a few years before it ran out of money and had some legal problems as well.

They offered to teach you the business model of lead generation, digital marketing in general, and even some tips on selling your own course.

That last part always got me a little bit weirded out.

You pay for a course that teaches you how to make your own course? What’s the skill here, really?

I personally believe that when you’re teaching someone a skill, that skill should enable them to go out into the world and provide a service or good that actually makes a difference for businesses and customers alike.

If every college just taught students how to teach, it would be a little redundant… and that’s probably why some people have referred to the TAF business model as a pyramid scheme.

I wouldn’t say that personally, but clearly the FTC had some problems with them anyway.

Just not a great idea if you ask me!

On the other hand, programs like Digital Leasing provide that high-upside, high-stability combo that you really want.

Think about it, you probably wanna provide some good money for your family, but you also wanna make sure you’re spending time with them more often, right?

Life is short, so you wanna make sure you’re not wasting it on things that don’t matter. A strong start in the local lead generation game can get you where you need to be!

Who Are Taylor Welch And Chris Evans?

who are taylor welch and chris evans

Taylor Welch is the more well known of the company’s two founders, and I gotta say, he does a good job of presenting himself online.

He advocates for family-first principles, while delegating business to 2nd rung on the ladder of priorities.

I think this is an aspect that many entrepreneurs overlook.

You hear a lot of guys talking about the grind, the hustle, and money over everything. This is especially common with the TikTok gurus—the kids in their late teens and early 20s.

It seems like Welch has been married to the same woman for over 10 years, and loves his kids a lot.

Frankly, I hope that the whole FTC thing really was a misunderstanding. He certainly seems to distance himself from the matter on social media.

He prides himself on building businesses, and he has been actively doing that with other companies. I hope that they have a better fate than Traffic And Funnels.

As for Chris Evans, like I said early on…it could be tricky to search this guy up.

Most of your search results will get you a ton of information about Captain America actor Chris Evans, or you might even get something about NFL running back Chris Evans.

But Chris Evans is a digital marketing guru from North Carolina who helped build Traffic and Funnels with Taylor Welch.

It’s not clear what he’s doing these days, but digital gurus typically don’t lay low for too long.

How Much Does Traffic And Funnels Cost?

how much does traffic and funnels cost

Apparently, the Traffic And Funnels cost ranged anywhere from $1,500 all the way up to $15,000!

Done For You services can get expensive, and I’d bet that’s where some of these higher claims have come from.

Personal Opinion On Traffic And Funnels

my opinion

So…how do we find the right course for you?

  • Make sure it still exists
  • Think about doing this for the rest of your life
  • Make sure you’re getting bang for your buck

This course had a decent premise, but I do see a few red flags.

To be fair, here’s 3 things I like about TAF:

  1. Digital marketing is a solid start
  2. Welch is an accomplished guru
  3. Done For You services available

…and, in all fairness, here are 3 things I don’t really like:

  1. It’s out of business
  2. The costs were way too high for the value received
  3. No SEO training

Traffic And Funnels scam” shows up a lot when you look up this course.

…but does that mean Taylor Welch was running a scam?

It depends on what you mean. This question is especially complicated since the Traffic And Funnels company was under investigation by the FTC and ultimately was shut down.

I am sure a lot of people lost money with the company, and it may have been tricky for them to get any money back, even after the FTC investigation and charges were complete.

We have to remember what a scam really is: when a company promises some kind of big success with their program or goods being sold, takes all your money, and then doesn’t deliver anything like that.

I hate to say it, but the FTC seems to have ruled that this course was guilty of running a scam.

They promised too much and delivered too little, and that certainly had something to do with going out of business.

I don’t think that Taylor Welch is a scammer in general, and there is some truth to his claims that he was selling the business right around the time the FTC was going after it.

Was he trying to escape the charges? Or was he really just tired of the business and ready to move on?

That’s not for me to decide.

Luckily for you, you don’t have to worry about signing up for this course anymore since it’s not even available. And if you’re just starting out, there are a ton of options out there where you can make a killing without worrying about getting scammed.

The trick is to find a business model that offers a high upside and minimal risk within digital marketing.

My favorite is local lead generation. It has a nice balance, and you are only competing against certain regions instead of the entire Internet, like if you had been selling on Amazon or something like that.

And if you can get a mentor who sticks with you all the way, with a great community to bounce ideas off of, then I think that gives you a pretty high chance of success.

Personally, I gotta keep recommending Digital Leasing.

Digital Leasing takes the stresses of physically leasing out spots and turns them into easier-to-manage websites—it minimizes your risks and maximizes your income!

Who knows? Maybe a few of your clients even tell a few of their friends and your empire grows even bigger.

What’s Inside Traffic And Funnels?

whats inside traffic and funnels

Here are some things you would have found in the program:

  • How to build sales funnels
  • Coaching services
  • Tips on how you can sell your own course
  • Advice on how to get the most out of your paid ads.

As I mentioned earlier, I really don’t like the idea of a program teaching you how to run your own program.

If the course was called Course Creating 101, then I would have less of a problem with it. After all, that means you’d be able to know what you’re getting into.

But if I signed up for a digital marketing course and was suddenly told that I should figure out how to build my own course… I’d start getting pyramid scheme vibes.

Another issue with all this is that it really lacks SEO training. Focusing on Facebook ads is a little outdated since it’s very limiting and can get you banned if you don’t do it right. It also misses out on things like Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, or anything else.

Not to mention Google!

If you run your ads incorrectly, you could end up losing money instead of making money.

SEO can be tricky in the short term, but it’s free and builds the most sustainable leads in the long term.

All in all, you should get yourself a well-rounded program!

Conclusion Of My Traffic And Funnels Review

So, should you dive all in with Taylor Welch and his buddy?

Obviously not.

If you still want to go ahead and try to send Taylor Welch money for a course that doesn’t exist anymore, then be my guest!

But frankly, I think he and Chris Evans have lost some trust in their students, to say the least.

Instead, you need to get yourself a well-rounded program that has everything you need—a one-stop shop for success!

On the flip side, Digital Leasing provides something for everyone, from beginners to experts, with elite training and one heckuva community.

Who knows, maybe you’ll even work from the beach one day…
