One Funnel Away Challenge Review (2024): Can You Learn To Build The Perfect Sales Funnel?

One Funnel Away Challenge Review

The One Funnel Away Challenge is the latest enterprise from the notorious funnel builder himself, Russell Brunson.

Building a successful sales funnel can really boost just about any online business, and Clickfunnels might just be the most famous funnel-building software of them all.

Online marketing strategies almost always include ways of using this software within their funnel-building process, and now Brunson is offering some training to help get you along even further.

Ironically enough, you probably got drawn into a sales funnel to find out about this challenge, and now you want to make sure that their sales funnel training is as good as the software behind it!

It certainly helps Brunson’s cause that he is so well known. Sometimes, random gurus pop up, and it’s easy to poke holes in their lack of experience or potential harm. But with Brunson, anyone who knows anything about sales funnel creation knows that he’s basically the king.

…but just because someone knows how to build software, does that mean they can build a great course?

Well, that’s what I’m here to tell you.

With so many gurus out there, it’s better to be safe than sorry when it comes to investing time and money into programs that aren’t worth either.

Even with someone as famous and well-known as Russell Brunson, you still want to make sure that you’re learning digital marketing from the best of the best.

After all, Michael Jordan was one heck of a basketball player, but never did cut it as a coach!

Lucky for you, I’ve been writing reviews about gurus for a while now, and it’s gotten kinda obvious who offers the best mentorship experience and who needs to refine their approach.

So, I’ll go over how sales funnels really work, whether Brunson can really teach online marketing as well as create a great sales page, and even show you a few alternatives so you can compare and figure out what makes the most sense for you.

Now, let’s get rockin’ with my One Funnel Away Challenge review!

Average Rating

3.00

The training offered here is a good starting place if you have any interest in funnel strategies or building effective sales funnels in general. Russell has been doing this for a while now, and it seems like you get some decent bang for your buck for what it is. This is just a beginner version of more expensive and bigger programs, but it's still hard to pass up this kind of mentorship for a relatively low price. There will be upsells, so it's not a totally free ride, but it's a great sampler if that makes any sense to you. I would say that the drawbacks include a lack of SEO training, and it doesn't really make sense for anyone who isn't a total rookie. I can't see any indication that there is a community setup for the students here.

Pros

  • Russell has been doing this for a while, which means you'll be working with a seasoned vet.
  • Relatively inexpensive, so that means you could have lowered risk.
  • A free trial on ClickFunnels means that you can get a nice head start with your business.

Cons

  • Not much of a refund policy means you may lack peace of mind.
  • This is a starter course, which means it's not for anyone other than rookies.
  • Lack of SEO training may mean you will need to take more courses.

TLDR – What’s The Verdict On The One Funnel Away Challenge?

What's The Verdict On The One Funnel Away Challenge

The One Funnel Away Challenge is one of the latest programs coming from the mind of Russell Brunson, founder of ClickFunnels.

This is a beginner program that gives you a sneak peek into the world of digital marketing, and I really like the fact that there are two separate paths they offer in terms of how you approach the challenge.

On the one hand, Brunson teaches the “expert” side, and his buddy Trey Lewellen teaches an e-commerce-focused version of the course.

There can be some significant differences in the way that a sales funnel works when it comes to ecom versus lead generation or affiliate marketing, so I think this is a wise move on their part.

One of the program’s strongest aspects is that it offers three free months of Clickfunnels, which is great because funnels can be the most expensive part of your operation.

Now, if you start up a business and start using Clickfunnels, you probably won’t stop, so you will eventually have to factor those numbers into your bottom line. But as for the course itself, it’s pretty cheap and might be a good way for you to test out how good of a mentor Brunson really is.

There’s no doubt that the guy knows how to build an enterprise, and certainly he knows his way around funnel software. But mentorship is a whole other game; some people just have it, and some people don’t.

The idea of this course is that you are “one funnel away” from getting rich, basically.

And I do like that they seem to have weekly coaching calls from the head honchos instead of random coaches under them who have never built up a business or anything like that.

All in all, you could probably do a lot worse than this challenge, but I think it would be a waste of time for anyone who’s not a total rookie to sales funnels.

I say this because anyone who’s done online business likely has experience with sales funnels by now, and this challenge is basically all about an introduction to using sales funnels effectively.

It might also make sense if you’re really bad at using sales funnels, but overall this is going to operate as an intro to joining more expensive and more detailed programs from Russell Brunson.

Heck, you might end up selling his course through affiliate marketing one day!

Maybe that’s fine for you, but it doesn’t seem like the best way to establish control over your life.

If it’s financial freedom you’re after, Digital Leasing is head and shoulders above the competition. They’ll teach you all about sales funnels, but they’ll also focus on more than just spending all your money on paid ads…you might even get some SEO training as well!

That means you can save some money on costs and build sustainable leads over time.

Digital Leasing is a really solid alternative. It brings more customers through the door and can put up to $2,000 in your hand per month per client!

Do you know what kind of product could be considered “recession-proof“?

Customers.

No one ever gets sick of more profits, so your investments are safe, and you can do it all from the comfort of your own home while spending time with family and friends.

Their students seem extremely passionate about what they’re doing – not just getting by, but creating their own future.

It can be tricky out there!

  1. You love an experienced guru
  2. You have identified digital marketing as a great way to make money
  3. You like that he has a decent refund policy

On the other hand, it probably doesn’t make sense to join up if…

  1. You want someone with more youthful energy to be your coach
  2. You have concerns about the lack of authentic student reviews
  3. You need more intimate coaching

The One Funnel Away Challenge At A 1,000 FT View

The One Funnel Away Challenge At A 1,000 FT View

If you haven’t heard of sales funnels by now, then you are probably very new to the world of online business.

Here’s how it works:

You will typically have some kind of advertisement out there, whether it be a blog post or perhaps a video ad on social media. From there, a viewer might get interested in what’s being offered, and then they click a link—this is what takes them to the sales funnel.

The sales funnel is a web page that basically puts on a whole sales pitch as to why you should buy what they’re selling. You’ll often see a video there that goes into details of what exactly is so great about this program, service, or product.

After that, you’ll see some written bullet points of what is offered within, and you’ll almost always see testimonials from students/customers on how great it is to join up. From there, the student or customer will go and enter their email in somewhere, or perhaps their phone number, or both.

Then, they’ll set up a call with the sales team to see if the course is right for them, or if it’s ecom-related, you’ll just be brought to the checkout area.

As you can tell, it’s pretty hard to have a sale without a sales funnel.

This is basically like having your own customized advertisement up at all times, and a successful funnel can be the difference between your own business surviving or failing.

And if you’ve had any experience in using these funnels before, chances are you likely used something called Clickfunnels.

Funny enough, Russell Brunson is the founder and creator of Clickfunnels, so you are certainly getting a guy who understands the business model of funnel-building as a whole. He offers a lot of insight into how everything works with what he calls a pre-training week, and it’s certainly not a bad place to start.

His partner, Trey Lewellen, focuses on the ecommerce side of things when it comes to building a sales funnel.

There can be some substantial differences between these two worlds, especially when you consider affiliate marketers often serve to sell a service or education program, whereas ecom businesses are selling things as big as a home stereo system or as small as a pencil.

Do people still have home stereo systems?

I don’t know, but it sounds fancy.

Anyway, the e-commerce business model has its own problems, like relying on a whole big supply chain to ensure everything goes according to plan. And you can always get beat on price by Chinese sellers, whose costs don’t look anything as high as yours.

On top of all that, sites like Amazon can shut down your cellular account for no reason at all, and you have no recourse to get it back.

Just not a great idea if you ask me!

On the other hand, programs like Digital Leasing provide that high-upside, high-stability combo that you really want.

Think about it, you probably wanna provide some good money for your family, but you also wanna make sure you’re spending time with them more often, right?

Life is short, so you wanna make sure you’re not wasting it on things that don’t matter. A strong start in the local lead generation game can get you where you need to be!

Who Are Russell Brunson And Trey Lewellen?

who is russell brunson

Russell Brunson has been a hustler for a while now, selling anything he could get his hands on as early as the age of 12. He had an interesting early life out in Utah, being known as a pretty good wrestler and selling things like instruction on how to build a potato gun!

Seriously.

That potato gun thing actually did really well, and he ventured into the world of digital marketing even further. He hustled and bustled all the way to making himself some good money, but everything changed in 2014.

That’s when Brunson and a guy named Todd Dickerson teamed up to make the famous Clickfunnel software.

This is the software that almost every digital marketer uses to create sales funnels that convert leads into…well, sales! He’s made roughly a bajillion dollars in that time, and now performs speeches to sellout audiences in fairly large venues. He’s got bestseller books, and all kinds of courses.

The OFA challenge is just one of his many enterprises at this point.

trey lewellen

Trey Lewellen is not nearly as famous as Russell Brunson, but he is the ecom expert within this program.

He claims to have found his success in 2012 with his program, “The Trey Lewellen Mastermind,” which is coincidentally the same year as his haircut!

Not exactly the most creative name, but I’m guessing he must be pretty good at ecom for a guy like Brunson to trust this guy with half of the course.

How Much Does The One Funnel Away Challenge Cost?

how much does one funnel away challenge cost

It appears the One Funnel Away Challenge cost is only $100 up front, but the sales funnel warns that there will be some upsells.

Although you do get three free months of the Clickfunnels service, it’ll cost you roughly 3 grand a year if you’d like to keep the funnel (the core of your operation) active.

Personal Opinion On The One Funnel Away Challenge

my opinion

So…how do we find the right course for you?

  • Feel out the guru’s energy
  • Imagine doing this forever
  • Read the fine print before signing

This course has a great premise, but I do see a few red flags.

To be fair, here’s 3 things I like about the OFA Challenge:

  1. Digital marketing is elite
  2. Brunson is very experienced
  3. Options to specialize in your niche

…and, in all fairness, here are 3 things I don’t really like:

  1. Only for beginners
  2. Lacks a solid refund policy
  3. Doesn’t seem like any SEO training

I’ve also reviewed Web Moguls, a course that focuses on lead generation using Dalton’s rank and rent strategy, though it has some unknowns and limited student feedback.

Additionally, I’ve covered ReviewPro LaunchPad, which teaches how to sell software for managing online reviews, offering mentorship from Mike Schmidt, along with training in web design and sales tactics.

Is There A One Funnel Away Challenge Scam Going On Here?

One Funnel Away Challenge scam” shows up a lot when you look up this course.

…but does that mean Russell Brunson is running a scam?

Definitely not. Brunson has been doing this for way too long to start scamming people now.

And you have to remember, even if you don’t enjoy Russell Brunson’s operation, that doesn’t make him a scam alone.

For something to actually qualify as a scam, they need to promise something, take a bunch of your money, and then not give you anything when it comes to what you are you were told you’d receive.

If you really want to get into funnel building, this is probably one of the better paths, especially since it already has the legacy name of Clickfunnels baked into it.

However, I do think that this program is a little limited.

It’s mostly for complete rookies and will leave you wanting more.

That means you’ll have to sign up for more courses, spend more money, and spend more time. I think it’s best for intermediate or expert marketers to look somewhere else, and rookies should find something that combines elite training with solid mentorship and a legit community.

I also think that SEO marketing should be taught more when it comes to what’s offered within the OFA Challenge since paid ads can end up losing you a bunch of money in the long run.

There is something called Digital Leasing, and it seems like they’ve got things figured out pretty well. They do a little something called Local Lead Generation, where you take away all the guessing of deciding between ecom or marketing, and you just focus on crushing the digital marketing game.

It reduces the competition you’ll face on a platform like Amazon while giving you tons of upside and helping out within your community.

The guy has been in the game for a LONG time, so it would be weird for him to just start scamming people…

…but that doesn’t mean he’s the best option, either. His approach is a little outdated and may leave students wanting more with our ever-changed digital marketplace.

Personally, I gotta keep recommending Digital Leasing.

Digital Leasing takes the stresses of physically leasing out spots and turns them into easier-to-manage websites—it minimizes your risks and maximizes your income!

Who knows? Maybe a few of your clients even tell a few of their friends and your empire grows even bigger.

What’s Inside The One Funnel Away Challenge?

whats inside the one funnel away challenge

The OFA Challenge offers a few weeks worth of content, so let’s dive in and see what you’ll be getting:

  • Week 0

This one is considered the pre-training week, which focuses heavily on mindset. This is a good way to start off any course since every endeavor is likely to face some setbacks and adversity, and you’ll have to know what to expect so you don’t let those get you too bummed out.

Having the right goals in mind and a planned structure for the road ahead are great tools in your tool belt.

  • Week 1

The first week starts with a series of concepts called the Hook, Story, and Offer.

The hook is that big bold claim that gets people excited!

Look how excited I am with my big, bold font and exclamation point!

Maybe 20 years ago, that hook would have been something like “get rich quick” or “fulfill your dreams overnight,” but people are getting smarter about that kind of thing.

These days, you’ll get people hooked with more practical ideas, like pitching them on not having to drive every morning to work, how they could spend time with family, or even being able to work from the beach!

That might get you a click onto their sales funnel, where you’ll hear a fleshed-out story from a guru or spokesperson. This could be the guru’s rags-to-riches tale or just a way of communicating your message to potential customers.

Lastly, the offer: this is when you either send the reader to a checkout page or acquire their information so you can set up a sales call to close out a high-ticket deal.

  • Week 2

Alright, I admit that this section seems a little redundant. It focuses on hooks and the story again, just in greater detail.

This is the kind of thing you might run into on a cheaper course: they say they offer several weeks of material, but you get a lot of repeat filler.

  • Week 3

This week is advertised as being focused on sales funnels, which is weird because that’s what the hook, story, and offer are all about!

I guess you might say that they focus more in-depth on generating leads here, but again, that’s kind of what the first few weeks were about as well.

  • Week 4

Apparently, this one specifically focuses on how you actually generate the leads, which could be training in paid ads for Google, social media campaigns, or cold emailing thousands of people. Seems that they leave out SEO marketing, which is a bit of a downside.

  • Week 5

This is kind of the outro for the course. It focuses on what you need to be doing over the next 90 days in order to sustain success and grow your sales funnel with ClickFunnels.

Conclusion Of My One Funnel Away Challenge Review

So, should you dive all in with Russell Brunson and his buddy?

Probably not.

Frankly, he’s probably too busy to invest that much time in a $100 beginner’s course, so you won’t get as much mentorship as you might elsewhere.

On the flip side, Digital Leasing provides something for everyone, from beginners to experts, with elite training and one heckuva community.

Who knows, maybe you’ll even work from the beach one day…
