TLDR – What’s The Verdict On My Marketing Coach?
Terry Dean is a real old school grinder who has been in the coaching game for a long time now, and he thinks that his programs have all the right tools to help you become someone who runs a successful business.
His main website is called My Marketing Coach, and there is a whole bunch of separate courses available over there. He likes to say that there’s something for everyone, and he might be right given the pure number of relatively inexpensive options.
Dean has been doing this since 1996, so it seems you will likely get some solid mentorship from the guy, although I will add that he only seems to do two coaching sessions a month, for 45 minutes each. But at the low prices he offers, you can’t really expect much more than that anyway.
I really like the idea he’s going with when it comes to his business model, as digital marketing is absolutely the way of the future. SEO and paid ads are both covered under his teachings, and these are pretty much the most critical ways to get my favorite way of doing business done: lead generation.
While it’s pretty hard to mess things up when it comes to such a great business model, I will say that you run the risk of missing the boat on critical updates when it comes to an older guru like Terry Dean.
Google is updating its algorithm all the time, so you’re going to need a coach that is constantly plugged in and always updating course material.
I just don’t know if it’s fair to expect that from Terry Dean.
I think he’s on the right track with this whole lead generation business, but at the end of the day, the mentor you decide to go with could make or break your career… and that means a lot of time and money.
Not great, but on the other hand…
Do you know what kind of product could be considered “recession-proof“?
Customers.
No one ever gets sick of more profits, so your investments are safe, and you can do it all from the comfort of your own home, while spending time with family and friends.
Their students seem extremely passionate about what they’re doing – not just getting by, but creating their own future.

Who Benefits From MMC…And Who Is It Wrong For?
Area | Score | Description |
---|---|---|
Time Investment | 4/5 | Shouldn’t take much time if Terry explains things properly. |
Level of Control | 4/5 | Digital marketing allows you to be your own boss. |
Ease of Implementation | 3/5 | Terry may be a little outdated in some of his approach. |
Profit Potential | 5/5 | Always tons of room for big money with lead generation! |
Sometimes you find a great program, but then all the coaches are awful. Other times, you find a really engaging mentor…but then it turns out there’s really no way to make money with their business model.
It can be tricky out there!
But Terry Dean’s program might be for you if…
- You love an experienced guru
- You have identified digital marketing as a great way to make money
- You like that he has a decent refund policy
On the other hand, it probably doesn’t make sense to join up if…
- You want someone with more youthful energy to be your coach
- You have concerns about the lack of authentic student reviews
- You need more intimate coaching

My Marketing Coach At A 1,000 FT View
Terry Dean sure picked the right business model when he decided to get into digital marketing, and it’s crazy that he did so all the way back in 1996!
Think about it, this dude has been grinding from dial-up to today and clearly had an idea that the Internet would be a powerful tool for businesses.
Kudos to him!
In particular, I would say that the lead generation strategies of using both paid ads and search engine optimization can be handy.
With paid ads, it’ll cost you a little more in the short term, but this can be a critical boost which is especially useful for companies who are just starting out and need to land a bunch of customers as soon as possible.
On the other hand, SEO doesn’t cost you a dime, but it does take a while for you to see results. The good news is that those results are usually more sustainable leads that you can rely on a little more than than the paid ads.
All in all, Terry Dean has done fine for himself over the years by using this business model that is kind of hard to mess up…
…but you do need to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to this stuff.
Terry Dean’s website looks a little bit outdated to me, which makes me wonder if he’s frequently updating his courses to reflect the changing algorithm of Google. If you don’t stay on top of that, then you’re teaching your students things that will actually hurt them and their bottom line moving forward.
Think about it, you probably wanna provide some good money for your family, but you also wanna make sure you’re spending time with them more often, right?
Life is short, so you wanna make sure you’re not wasting it on things that don’t matter. A strong start in the local lead generation game can get you where you need to be!
Who Is Terry Dean?
Terry Dean was a simple pizza delivery boy who got sick and tired of the 9-5 rat race… all the way back in the 90s!
He stumbled onto the world of digital marketing, and never looked back.
Eventually, he sold some websites, and decided to start My Marketing Coach in 2006.
How Much Does My Marketing Coach Cost?
The My Marketing Coach cost varies depending on the program you wish to go with. You could end up with something as low as $79, or as high as $1,200 if you want some “email coaching” and a couple phone calls every month.
Personal Opinion On My Marketing Coach
So…how do we find the right course for you?
- Figure out if the guru is a good fit for you
- Consider you doing this for the rest of your life
- Inspect student reviews online
This course has a great premise, but I do see a few red flags.
To be fair, here’s 3 things I like about Terry’s program:
- Hard to mess up digital marketing
- Terry has great experience
- Teaches both SEO and paid ads
…and, in all fairness, here are 3 things I don’t really like:
- Some methods appear to be outdated
- Lacks frequent one-on-one coaching
- Not many student reviews
I’ve also reviewed ReviewPro LaunchPad, which specializes in selling online review software with Mike Schmidt’s mentorship, though it’s a very niche market.
Additionally, I’ve covered Digital Leasing by Joshua T Osborne, offering solid training in local lead generation with hands-on support and a vibrant community.

“My Marketing Coach scam” shows up a lot when you look up Terry Dean’s course.
…but does that mean he’s running a scam?
I seriously doubt it.
The guy has been in the game for a LONG time, so it would be weird for him to just start scamming people…
…but that doesn’t mean he’s the best option, either. His approach is a little outdated, and may leave students wanting more with our ever-changed digital marketplace.
Personally, I gotta keep recommending Digital Leasing.
Who knows? Maybe a few of your clients even tell a few of their friends and your empire grows even bigger.
What’s Inside My Marketing Coach?
Terry offers six different courses, but they’re all within the digital marketing world. You’ll pretty much be getting video lessons only, was the only access to mentorship coming through higher ticket packages.
That said, the coaching is “email coaching” and “phone call coaching” which is a little old-school.
Conclusion Of My Marketing Coach Review
So, should you dive all in with Terry Dean?
Probably not.
He’s from the dial-up era, and you need a mentor who is up-to-date and brings some fresh energy!
On the flip side, Digital Leasing is “evergreen,” meaning it works no matter what’s going on in the economy, because it’s got something that businesses will always demand no matter what:
Customers.
Who knows, maybe you’ll even work from the beach one day…
